Annie Daley's paper roots document a place, a moment, or an adventure in nature. They are replicas recording a piece of memory, and are literally pieces of roots found during the artist's hikes and experiences in Vermont. Daley is interested in the way memories are chronicled or logged within peoples' lives through photos or videos and farming and agriculture have deeply influenced her work. She wants viewer to consider their roots, which are grounded within their own memory.
